How much does solar installation cost in Nigeria?
Solar pricing in Nigeria is driven by three things: how much energy you use each day, how many hours of backup you need at night, and the battery chemistry you choose. Most residential systems land between ₦1.5m and ₦9m installed. Use the calculator below to size your own system, then send the result to verified installers on the Eco Experts Hub.

What changes the price
Battery type
Lithium (LiFePO4) costs roughly twice as much as tubular up front but lasts three to four times longer, so cost per usable cycle is lower.
Import and FX exposure
Panels, inverters and cells are imported, so quotes move with the naira. Ask providers how long a quote is valid.
Roof and mounting
Aluminium rails, ground mounts and long cable runs add ₦150,000 – ₦600,000 depending on roof type and distance to the inverter.
Load profile
Air conditioners, pumping machines and electric cookers can double array and battery size. An audit before quoting avoids oversizing.
Frequently asked questions
- How much does a 5kVA solar system cost in Nigeria?
- A complete 5kVA hybrid installation with a 10kWh lithium battery typically costs ₦3.5m – ₦6m in 2026, including panels, inverter, mounting, cabling and installation labour.
- Can solar power an air conditioner?
- Yes, but AC units are heavy loads. A single 1HP inverter AC running six hours a day usually needs about 1kWp of extra panels and 4–5kWh of additional battery capacity.
- How long does installation take?
- Most residential installs are completed in one to three days after the site assessment and equipment delivery.
- Is there a warranty?
- Panels usually carry a 20–25 year performance warranty, inverters 5–10 years and lithium batteries 5–10 years. Jobs booked through SustifyHomes also carry a platform workmanship warranty.
